I'm Kat - I'm many things.
I'm the founder of the women's vitality and leadership company, Vital Leaders and according to those in the know, I'm recognised as one of the UK’s most inspiring women, having built a coaching and development company that has transformed lives around the globe.
I'm also the creator of a voluntary-led empowerment group, Life After Cancer, supporting men and women as they transition back into life and back into the workplace after their cancer battle.
And I'm the creator of The Vitality Club - a private members network for women ready to elevate their success without burning out.
My clients describe me and my working style as sincere, funny, wise and strong, and I believe that's why I'm such a highly sought after coach.
I combine my personal experiences and corporate background with my coaching and psychotherapy training to design bespoke programmes that inspire and transform.
My mission is to make a significant impact on the lives of women around the world, guiding them back to their authentic voices, to embrace their genius; powerfully, boldly and without burning out.
I have an embarrassing amount of followers via my social media and network channels and I've been featured in many publications empowering women to become the leaders they are destined to be.
Kat's Story.
I never dreamed I would become an entrepreneur, let alone a coach.
I fell into corporate life after a 6 month European backpacking adventure straight out of college. After meeting so many fun and interesting people, I returned from my travels confident and determined to become a marketing magnet. A couple of weeks later I got my first break as a marketing assistant in a high profile corporation. I was on my way.
I worked incredibly hard for talented directors - only it never seemed to be enough. I learned very quickly that if I wanted to succeed, I had to toughen up, man up, and trust no-one. And so the divide began. Every morning as I walked through those glass doors I would leave myself behind and step into that woman who believed she had to act like her old male boss to get ahead.
I spent over 20 years in corporate life, not understanding my own strengths nor valuing my contributions. I had no confidence in my abilities. I had no voice. My life spiralled out of control. I worked crazy hours and dealt with long, stressful commutes. I grabbed whatever food was quick and easy from airports and train stations. I drank copious amounts of coffee in a bid to stay awake and feel alive. I had no time for myself, my friends nor family. I was angry most of time. I was stuck in a cycle of people pleasing with a crippling imposter syndrome and a deafening inner critic.
Hitting Rock Bottom
I burned out. And so began my spiral into serious illness.
The material trappings of success I’d worked so hard to gain started to disappear. I lost my home and my financial security, my club membership and my luxury handbags. My marriage failed.
As Sir Winston Churchill famously said, "if you’re going through hell,
keep going."
And that’s exactly what I did. It was during those years battling graves disease, vasculitis and cancer that I discovered the power of coaching, personal development and modern psychology. Unsurprisingly as I discovered who I was at my core, healed past traumas and let go of fears, I began to come back to life and then thrive. As my authentic voice became louder and with a renewed sense of purpose, my confidence exploded. It was time to step into the entrepreneurial world and launch my business.
From small beginnings
The moment Kat realised her story inspired others, she began to teach all she knew. As her expertise grew and her reputation gained momentum, investors appeared. Her services expanded into online courses and powerful coaching programmes and then into a private mentoring network.
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns and can be utterly terrifying to try and navigate your way at times. Kat’s wish is that her story will give you hope there is a bold and bright future waiting just for you.
Her voluntary-led initiative has been recognised around the world as the number one support hub for men and women who have battled cancer. Focusing on emotional support and positive change, the members are able to heal the traumas of diagnosis and treatment and discover their inherent strengths, so they transition back into life and back into the workplace with confidence and ease.
Kat was also involved in advocating for the first NHS Trust cancer wellness centre and she speaks regularly on the resources and emotional support these centres provide, raising the profile of complementary therapies as an essential element to health and wellbeing.
Kat has spent many years travelling the world. She invests in and renovates property and communities across the UK. Kat is now based on the Sunshine Coast, where you can find her paddle boarding, walking her dog or hiking the south downs. She is an ambassador for thriving after cancer.
